Water safety in Newfoundland and Labrador

Water safety in Newfoundland and labrador is of profound importance given the nature of our culture and geography. For centuries, Newfoundlanders have depended upon the sea for thier livelihood and presently our citizens enjoy numerous aquatic activities and leisure sport on the waters within and surrounding our province. Unfortunately, each year brings death and injury to our citizens as a reasult of unsafe practices around water and many of these situations could have been prevented with the use of prudent and relatively simple safety equipment and behaviour.

The homework website deals with the history of the water safety campaign in Newfoundland and Labrador. There are several organizations active in the promotion of water safety year round! Though we tend to see more activity on the water in the summer, people also suffer needlessly in accidents during the winter, especially regarding the use of snobmobiles on the various inland waters of the province. The website also describes some of the most common goals of educating the public in this regard and how easy it is for one to take precautions against tragedy, while simultaneously enjoying our beautiful province. The website also poses several challenges to the visitor. It asks the visitor to think logically about how we can further promote the issue in this province and to what target audience we should devote our efforts.

Introduction to blogging

This is my first official blog, so I sit wondering what to compose and share. I realize that a blog is simply like the traditional journal, yet in electronic format. I guess as our world becomes increasingly computerized, I must embrace the revolution and hence I am here. I am anticipating that this media course will offer some insight into some of the major ways that adult educators can use media to enhance instruction. Though important, media should not be used as a lone method of instruction or to replace the role of the facilitator. It should be used as a tool to increase the effectiveness of both direct instruction and constructivist learning.
